The nights are drawing in, as soon as the autumnal equinox is passed.  It's definitely fall.  But just because summer is officially over, that doesn't mean you can rest yet!  Here a few things that are very important to take care of;

Overwintering Geraniums

It may seem like spring is a long way off, but you need to prepare now to have a good display of spring flowering bulbs. 

Plant them now before the hard frosts of winter arrive so they have a chance to grow some roots - some of the best and most reliable of spring bulbs are crocuses;

With winter approaching, if you want to salvage your containers next year, you need to prepare them now, before the cold weather hits. 

Crafts such as globes and spheres won't survive if they are off the ground, so put them in a garden bed, where the snow (or leaves) can cover them and give them some protection from wet conditions or temperature fluctuations - get more tips here;
