Phew! What a winter! This is one to forget, even though there were some important lessons - including the one about Mother Nature and global warming.
Sadly, another lesson I learned is that a two by four constructed wooden greenhouse is no match for four feet (one meter) of snow accumulation. Sadly, the greenhouse that we built in 2002 is no more, just a jumble of broken sticks and a mess to clean up.
It's important to see the bright side in disasters.
The silver lining of the greenhouse collapse is that we no longer have to worry about it, and can rebuild using the lessons we've learned on what not to do, and how to make changes to the design, or, not rebuild at all, just clear away the debris and wait for inspiration.
The nursery is always evolving - maybe I no longer need a greenhouse!
Even if it's still a little chilly, bring some spring indoors. Forced bulbs (encouraged is a better word) and other springtime blooms in bright colors make the endless winter more bearable;
