Thanks, Jacki. That is very helpful. I wonder if it is also a bit etiolated from being stored on a dark shelf in the store, although the color is good.

Hi Louise, I didn't think it was etiolated. That is generally the form of these shrublike types.

You can keep them shorter and more compact by pruning off the taller stems, which encourages more growth to emerge from each leaf axil, eventually forming a shrub.

If it's not pruned fairly regularly, the tendency is for one stem to be dominant, and sometimes the whole thing topples over - good call on the terracotta pot!

I was gifted the same plant and I've looked everywhere for the name, it drove me crazy.
Finally, I found out it's a Fuzzy Crassula from California! (Crassula mesembryanthemoides) Family: Crassulaceae

Crassula mesembryanthemoides

It seems it flowers in Autumn if happy!
I do hope I get to see that!
