Pruning 9 month old Kalanchoe thyrsiflora

I have a row of 10 Kalanchoe thrysiflora that have stalks about 2 1/2 feet high, some have outgrowths at the bottom. Can the stalks be cut now? How much do I cut and will that encourage more growth at the bottom?

Hi Suzanne, yes you can cut the stalks any time; however, if you've ever wanted to see them bloom this will also eliminate the flower stalk. Cut the long stem right off at the base, and also cut back each of the other stems if you want to encourage it to be really bushy, otherwise leave those to take over.

What an appealing use of these great plants!
