Spider Plants
by: Jacki Cammidge, Certified Horticulturist

There are very few ways to kill spider plants, but you may have discovered one. They have fleshy roots, if you dig it out to look at them, which means they are very prone to rot, especially if they aren’t permitted to dry out between waterings.

I don’t think it’s too late for this one, because in general, these are tough plants! I highly recommend them for starting out growers, because they put up with a lot.

If you just transplanted it, give it time. Keep it out of full sun, and water well, with tempered water, once. Then allow it to dry out. The water needs to be tempered so as not to shock the roots with cold water.

Then leave it alone; don’t stand over it, worrying.
