Hi,

Can please you identify the plant in the photos?

I have used many plant identifier apps and they all say mini jade and I don’t think that is correct.

This plant is grown indoors.

Thanks!

Lou

Sorry
by: Jacki Cammidge, Certified Horticulturist

I can’t really identify this plant, because it’s in such rough shape. It resembles some of the Echeveria, like Echeveria setosa, or a hybrid of that and others, like this one;  Echeveria set-oliver/

Whatever it is, it needs more light to show at its best. If it ever blooms, that will be a more telling characteristic.

Next steps
by: Lou

Hi Jacki,

Thanks.. I don’t want these to die as I love them… what photos would you need to identify them better.

It has woody stems like a Crassula multicava and leaves like Portulacaria afra Decumbent.

Let me know what I need to do!

Thanks

Lou

More Photos Won’t Help
by: Jacki

More photos won’t help with identifying it. Sorry. This plant needs more light, and what I would do is propagate the green ends to try and get something with more typical characteristics.

Green Stem Propagation
by: Lou

Thanks Jacki

I will try to propagate the green ends in soil. The soil I will use is what you recommend …commercial bagged potting mix such as Miracle Gro, Sunshine Mix #4, or comparable brand with equal parts Turface, pumice and chicken grit.

Once I have the green ends and dibble a hole in the soil. Do I place the green end in the soil vertically and then cover it with soil and just wait?

Thanks

Lou

No Need to Cover
by: Jacki

No need to cover it. Just set it on top of DRY potting soil. This is to allow it to callous, or heal over. Neglecting this will just make it rot.

Thanks Jacki..

I will place the green ends on a bed of dry Miracle-Gro Indoor Potting Mix 6 qt. and report back progress on this thread.

Thanks!
