Hello! Could you pls help me?
I got seeds Haworthia Truncata ex Japan and Haworthia Maughani ex Japan.

The seeds were VERY expensive to buy, and I would like to ask what is the best temps to germinate those seeds?

Should I keep the same temps throughout the day and night? or should I change temps?

I read that changing temps between day and night can help germination, and also that some seeds should be kept in the same temps during day and night.

What about haworthia seeds?

I also have got T5 fluorescence lamps to help germination.
thank you aga

Hi Aga, wow, your really getting some interesting things happening with your plants!

From all accounts, Haworthia aren’t difficult to grow from seed.

I am going to go out on a limb here and suggest that they will most likely germinate for you with a slightly lower temperature at night, but don’t go to extremes.

In their native habitat, they don’t experience a lot of difference in day and night temperatures, so if you can copy what they would see there, your seeds should germinate fine.

Your lights probably won’t have anything to do with actual germination, but they will certainly help once the seedlings start to grow.

Keep in mind that these plants will need to be fairly close to the lights for the brightest light; with fluorescent tubes, it’s not a problem with them being within a few inches.

You will have to watch and see how they do; if they look a little pale, and are stretching towards the light, this indicates that they need more.

Best of luck with your project – I love Haworthia truncata – super plant!
