Each plant has its own color flowers - one is yellow, another lavender, another is pink. They change hue throughout the day, chamelion-like. They close at night, open again the next day. Cupped in the a.m., opening wider at noon resembling crepe-paper. In the evening they resemble carnations.
These little beauties are Portulaca, or Sun Rose. There are lots of different ones, some specialty types that are best in hanging baskets, and other annual types that thrive in hot dry and challenging sites, with extremely well drained soil. They'll keep blooming all summer, drought notwithstanding.
You can see more about them here: Portulaca.
