Dahlias

Hi I live in zone 8B my Dahlias are outside, I'm leaving my home in November before the first frost, should I cut them down before I leave or leave them until March when I get back. Thank You very much.

Dahlias will not survive any amount of frost. You need to dig them up and store them in a frost free space like your basement.

As for cutting them down, and when, I don't think it makes any difference to their survival. Why not try it both ways, and determine which works better, if any?
