Not sure what this is, but I don’t want to treat it as a weed if it isn’t. Doesn’t seem to match any of the known weeds I’ve searched for. I live in Northern VA and would love to know what it is. Thanks!!

Little Groundcover

I’m pretty sure this is Ajuga, and it looks like it’s spread by seed, as some show the purple foliage of the one called ‘Chocolate Chip’ while others are green.
It can be fairly invasive, so don’t worry about treating it like a weed. The flowers are pretty, more like little spires of blue bells than anything. And of course, it spreads by pieces of the roots too.
