My Africian Milk Tree

I have an Africian Milk Tree and it is growing really well. I have had it for a couple of years. It is now almost 3 feet tall. When I planted it, I used a long pot as you can see. It is only a little over 4 in deep….but 12 inches wide. Do you think this is enough for it? It is strong and not falling over or anything.

Thank you.

In Time
by: Jacki Cammidge, Certified Horticulturist

In time, as the tree gets even bigger, because of its height, you most likely will need a deeper pot, but for now, it looks fine.

If it starts looking like it might topple over, that will be the right time to go pot shopping for something heavy enough to keep it upright.

As always, any pot you choose must have drainage holes in it to prevent the roots from rotting.
