Drought Smart Plants reply: I've seen this one referred to as 'elephants ear' but I have no botanical name for you. I've looked in several of my books, but can't locate the right plant.

It's such a cool looking plant when well grown, as this one is. It sure doesn't thrive like that in some of the places people try to grow it. Again, this is not a hardy plant, but more of a tropical or jungle one.

It prefers to have a bit of shade, such as under larger trees or an overhang or pergola, and also more moisture.

As far as I know, it doesn't bloom, or not so you would notice anyway.

Sorry I can't identify it for you,
Jacki
