The main stalk is about 0.5 inches thick, and the leaves sprouting off get to be a little over 1 inch long, maybe 1.5 inches. it seems like it might be sprouting little clones of itself down near the base. please help, i’ve looked all over for the name of this plant. thank you!

You will regret this one

You will be sorry if you keep this plant for long.
It has mean thorns, gets big and makes a lot of pups if you cut it anywhere. We had a bad experience.

Xmas tree cactus
by: Ian Witte

Look up Christmas tree cactus. Not to be confused with Christmas cactus though lol. I have one as well and it also took me a long time to figure out what it was. Can’t remember the scientific name at the moment

Monadenium shubei
by: Jacki

This is one of the plants I get asked about a lot – between Euphorbia and Monadenium, these are the most common of plants. They are weird looking and almost alien seeming.

Now these two species are merged together, so sometimes you’ll see the same plant called by several different names, just to make it even more confusing.

See more about Euphorbia here.
