Very dense long-stemmed plant with thiny heart-shaped leaves

by Kathy
(Lakewood,co)

This plant grows quickly. The heart shaped leaves are 1/4-1/2 inch across. The 12-15 inch stems grow all through each other and make repotting tedious. It blooms frequently with tiny white star-shaped flowers.
I bought the plant at our local grocery store and I think it was called African Hearts. I have been unable to find anything by that name online.
I'd greatly appreciate your help.

Drought Smart Plants reply:

Hi Kathy - great scoop! I love this plant and I never heard any common name for it, but that's so perfect! The botanical name is Dischidia ruscifolia, which is quite a mouthful and it also is called 'Million Hearts' which is also a great name.

I'm sorry I can't tell you much about it, as I just received cuttings in a swap with another addicted gardener, so I'm not sure of its care requirements.

I'm glad to hear that you are having success with it, as it's really a cute plant. I'll be interested to see the blooms, if as you say, they are frequent.

Happy Succulent Growing!
Jacki
