Unknown plant
by Mary
(Jonesboro,ar)
I just want to know what it is - was a gift and nobody can tell me what it is help me please. Drought Smart Plants reply:
Hi Mary, you don't say if this is an outside plant or a houseplant, but it looks just like some types of Sedum that are hardy and grow outdoors. In particular, it looks like Sedum Autumn Joy, and depending on the size (it's hard to tell from the picture) it could also be a variety of Sedum spurium.
In some cases, these unknown plants end up being a favorite new plant; hopefully the person that gave it to you is fond of you and would only give you a plant that they like a lot!
Sometimes, identification of these kinds of plants is only possible once they bloom, which are more recognizable.
Happy gardening! Jacki
