THIS is the star beauty of the group...very unique leaves...like its a water plant leaves....and also the flower is completely different colored(yellow) than its reddish green color...i like it...
Drought Smart Plants reply: This seems to be a Kalanchoe blossfeldiana, or similar. I've mostly seen these grown as houseplants, so the red coloration of the leaves is a surprise. The rest of the plant (leaf shape, flowers) all resemble that plant for sure.
See more about Kalanchoe species on this page. Scroll to the bottom and look through the visitor submissions, and see if those look similar.

OK the last one in the group....this one i don't know...it has a Condensed straight leaves over it self that makes a fine look... i'd re arrange this group again if i was the Gardner..
thank you and i hope to learn a thing or two from you.... appreciate your effort :))
Drought Smart Plants says; this one is a mystery to me! It looks almost like another Agave, the species stricta, which have a similar texture to the growth, but the leaves of this plant are flat it looks like.
I agree with you about rejuvenating the planting, although some of those plants are pretty big to be messing with. Maybe just some more of the reddish plants to fill in the gaps would pull it together a bit more.
Thanks for your contributions, Ahmed - as always, you've got me intrigued and amazed at the quality and quantity of gorgeous plants in your city.

it says here:
"There are a number of variegated selections, the most popular possibly being 'Gold Sword' which has stripes of gold variegation down the center of the leaves while 'Bright Edge' has green centers with gold leaf margins. 'Gold Garland' also has gold variegation that is prominent on young leaves and transforms to green as the leaf ages. 'Ivory' has cream-colored variegation."
what you think jacki??..
Drought Smart Plants reply: Hi Ahmed - this is in response to this post, here: This group of plants, right? Specifically, this one: Tentatively identified as Agave americana.
I'm still leaning towards Agave of some kind, as Yucca tends to be more upright, not curving outward then up. You will have to re-visit the site and see if there are any blooms.
Also, if you do happen to get back there, really look at the tips of the leaves. Agave have a wicked spike at the end of each leaf (or a scar where they've been cut off as a management technique!) and Yucca will be sharp but not an actual spike.
We'll figure it out!
Best,
Jacki

OK this time we have a group of Cactus to identify, a very nice Composition I would say, I'll know about that when I know some names....now this is gonna take more than once to be uploaded(max pictures 4) , so I'll divide the photos of the group...this first one is the red small shrub goes with the local name ( arintera or alintera )...its red and makes a good Contrast with the Duranta in front of it.....
P.S:
hello jacki :))....i answered back on your last Comment thanking me about my choice of plants....just want to make sure you reach my answer...I said your more than welcome...i love this website and i have reached some information about some of the plants you didn't knew about , so if your interested to know id be happy to tell you but you need to show me how ( i mean do i write the name on the same page as a comment or something else )...thank you :)
Drought Smart Plants reply: Hi Ahmed, thank you for your nice comments! Just put the name of the plant in the comment section, if you find ones that I don't know, please!
For this pretty red shrub I'm stuck. I have no idea what it could be, it's nothing that I recognize. Very nice, though.

the second , is this Beautiful straight erected yellowish green leaves with some yellowish white stripes marking the leaves...i thought its an agave Americana or something but when i goggled it i saw the agave Americana leaves more tending to be curvy downward....
Drought Smart Plants reply: I would say that this is indeed an Agave - there are many kinds in the nursery trade - the dead giveaway characteristic is that wicked thorn on the ends of each leaf.
This is an absolutely gorgeous plant, the form is perfect. They obviously really like the climate where you are - it's that dry desert air that makes them grow so well.
