Random plant that suddenly came up

I'm in Virginia, US and this plant suddenly showed up in our front yard. Haven't seen any flowers yet. Ideas?

Quick! Pull it up and eat it! This is purslane, or Portulaca oleracea, mostly thought of as a weed, but in some cultures it's eaten as a pot herb similar to spinach. Although easy to pull up, this plant can become somewhat invasive, as every little bit will make a new plant.

The flowers when they emerge are small and yellow. You can see more about this plant here: Portulaca - scroll through the entries at the bottom of the page for more.
