I bought this succulent at a nursery greenhouse about a week ago and have no idea what it could be. I planned on using it for a science fair project, but in order to do so I must have its scientific name… Please help!

Possible culprit

This quite honestly could be almost anything, but I’m willing to bet that it’s a Sempervivum, which are hardy succulents often grown in rockeries, or planted in crafts such as hypertufa pots.
You can see more about how to grow them here.
You would be safe using the name Sempervivum species with this plant, because there are just so many it’s impossible to narrow it down more than that.
