My unknown plant that I think is a succulent

My unknown plant

My unknown plant

Green (dark purplish if overwatered), thick "leaves" in a star pattern, rough textured top surface. I enhanced this photo a little to show its normal color. It's been overwatered and is being allowed to dry some by removing it from the soil. The poor thing has been through alot and never gives up!

Drought Smart Plants reply; Good call! Succulents really don't have the ability to withstand any real wetness around their roots - in fact, they can take considerable drying out, even to the point of having no soil around them at all.

I have no clue as to the exact identification of this character, sorry! I hope you'll get it back on its feet soon, and repost another picture when it regains its health, maybe that will give me more idea of what it looks like normally.

Best of luck with your succulent (which it is).

Turns purple…
by: Anonymous

I'm thinking a Haworthia. Several can turn a purplish hue and have a leaf that resembles this with the scabrous surface. It looks something like H. picta, but as the leaves look to have rounded tips may very well be another. There are several very similar, so I hope that gives you a start.
