large leaves with black pattern

by Jeannette
(SC)

This plant has very large leaves (14-18 inches)at full maturity. Each mature leaf also has a dark brown/black pattern. Thanks for helping!

Hi Jeanette, I'm not 100% sure, but it could be another one like these other questions from visitors;

Rosette of Leaves

Tree Succulent

Do either of those look like it? If so, sorry but it doesn't look like anyone knows these plants! To be sure if it's the same plant, you may have to wait and see if it blooms like these two. If it is the same, lucky you!

Happy Succulent Growing!

Jacki,
Even though the leaves have a similar pattern, the ends are pointed and not rounded. It continues to produce the same size leaves with no blooms. The leaves are green at first then, with maturity get the pattern. Each of these leaves have produced another baby plant at the end (that I have cut off and replanted). Thanks for your help!

So, let me get this straight - it produces a baby plant on each leaf - interesting. That might be a giveaway trait.

Let me see if I can come up with anything more...

Hi Jeannette, Mandy left this comment on the Facebook page:

"I can't remember the scientific name right now, but it's a Kalanchoe 'Donkey Ears'. They will grow babies on the leaves that root easily. Mine bloomed the third second winter I had it. The blooms are spectacular, but the mother plant dies after blooming."

You can find out more about it on Daves Garden.
