Laguna Beach Succulent

What is this succulent?

What is this succulent?

Aloe type leaves, yellow-green, short, with a

dome of buds or flowers in red and yellow.

Drought Smart Plants reply:

This is an Agave of some kind - if the leaves each terminate in a sharp point - I'm talking needle like here - then it's Agave.

As well as the bayonet in many cases there are also shorter 'teeth' along the edges of the leaves.

Aloe, although similar in appearance, have only the toothed edges, similar to thorns but not quite as sharp.

Very unusual flowers - try and collect some seeds when they're ripe.
