I am trying to find out if the attached picture is a plant or a weed.. I just moved in to my home and i am doing some grooming to my landscaping… please see attached picture.. I live in Bronx, New York, i am pretty sure that i am in zones 7-8 according to the USDA map.. the plant is growing outside…

All Weeds are Plants…

FYI even though it’s considered a weed, all weeds are plants.
This could be almost anything. I would wait to see what it does when/if it flowers. That’s the only way to tell if it’s something noxious, or an actual precious garden plant.
Some potential culprits;
Nicotiana – you’ll know when it blooms because the flowers are white trumpet shaped flowers in a cluster, which smell divine.
Some kind of tree – it almost looks like a Magnolia from the leaf shape. Magnolias are full sized trees for the most part, so it probably will be a while before it flowers!
Please post back when it flowers, if you can wait that long. Maybe it will be more obvious then.
