I bought this succulent at a market this summer, but don’t know its name, or the best care for it.

It seems to want as much sunlight as I can give it, and I haven’t watered it a ton, but that’s all I know! Any insights are appreciated on its identity or care. Thank you!

Pretty sure this is Oscularia deltoides, please do an image search on this and let me know if you agree. Did it flower yet?

I am going to go out on a limb here and say I don’t think there is a problem with the soil as I have just gotten my hands on the same plant and was actually on here to see if I could find it!

It’s an absolutely adorable little creation, just love it.

I believe it may be a member of the Sedum family as where there are main leaves off the delicate stem…there are new ones coming in on the same node between the stem and large leaf (possible branching beginning?) or possibly Crassulae as each set of large leaves come out in opposite direction of the ones below. ( eg: north/South then East/West).

I happened on it in a “mixed succulent hanging basket” (was the deciding factor of which basket I wanted. I still would LOVE to know what it is! I began two months ago with my first succulent, a String of Pearls and found succulents are like a bad drug.. all it took was one try and I’m incureably addicted!!

I’ve come across this little guy several times, and I always marvel at how similar a feel there is to Holly (Ilex) which is of course, not related at all. Some of the traits that plants adopt for protection from predators transcend the different species of plants.

It will eventually flower, and the blooms look like hot pink daisies. The genus is Oscularia, and the species is deltoides. They like poor soil and will grow well in pots or in the ground, although they’re not hardy in cold winter areas.
