Graptopetalum
by: Jacki

Hi Christine, your friends plant is one of the Graptopetalum group - there are several that all appear similar, and tend to have this feature of shedding their lower leaves. This leaves a long bare stem and several opportunities to propagate the top rosette by beheading it, then new shoots will emerge from the bare stem below it and make a nice bushy new plant.

Unique Plants

Christine, these plants look like something out of the movie "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". But not in a bad way. I guess they look cartoonish to me. Very unique!
