Crape Myrtle
by Linda
My crapemyrtle tree is changing it's color to a pink, instead of the deep red that I purchased. What can I do? Drought Smart Plants reply:
Hi Linda, I'm not really familiar with Crape Myrtle, so I'm not sure what is going on with it. Do you know the variety? This could be why it's changing colour, if this is a natural part of its cycle. Many trees do have seasonal changes, so you don't have to do anything in particular. As long as the tree is healthy, and leaves are not shriveling or dropping, and there are no pest infestations, your tree is most likely simply responding to climatic changes (dryness, heat, or excessive rain; choose one or more of these).
